Who:              500 African American aerospace professionals in industry, academia, and government

What:             A first of its kind technical conference encompassing plenary sessions, keynote speakers, technical training courses, peer-reviewed technical papers, cultural and technical tours, and industry trade shows

Conference Tracks:  

  1. Aviation and Aerodynamics Research
  2. Space Exploration
  3. Space Commerce, Tourism, and Colonization
  4. Space Science
  5. Avionics and Software
  6. Systems Engineering
  7. National Security Aviation and Space Systems
  8. Ground Launch, Recovery, Test, and Simulation
  9. Space Research of NSBE

When:             February 5-10, 2010

Where:            Sheraton Gateway Hotel, Los Angeles, California

Why:               To accomplish the following objectives: 

  1. Provide NSBE and non-NSBE practitioners and researchers in industry, academia, and government a common platform to present, discuss and influence aeronautics and astronautics research with the intent to enhance Aerospace Engineering practice and education
  2. Promote a broad exchange of information on technologies, applications, and developments in Aerospace Engineering
  3. Provide a networking venue for engineers, researchers, and operations personnel in the Aerospace industry
  4. Highlight new projects, ongoing and completed research of the National Society of Black Engineers in Aerospace disciplines
  5. Produce a peer-reviewed Aerospace conference proceedings exploring diverse and innovative developments in Aerospace Engineering and related disciplines
  6. Establish at least two new Special Interest Groups within the NSBE Aerospace Division (SIG selection and # based on attendee interest)
